QUARRY MANAGER
About Us
Newcastle Sand Pty Ltd is the operator of the recently approved greenfield quarry being established at Cabbage Tree Rd Williamtown, NSW. The quarry has approvals to extract 3.25Mt of high-grade silica sand over a 8 – 15 year project life (subject to demand) with the sand suitable for concrete, glass making, asphalt and building/manufacturing uses.
Newcastle Sand is seeking application from suitably qualified and motivated applicants to be part of this start up private company where your performance and aptitude will be acknowledged and rewarded. This position will commence August 2019.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated full-time qualified Quarry Manager to setup the facility from a greenfield site to an operating quarry with the responsibilities including;
- Supervising site operations and personnel daily.
- Production scheduling and stockpile quality and quantity management.
- Maintenance planning and daily reporting as required.
- Oversee and implement safety processes, procedures, pre-starts and tool box meetings
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must have or experience in and or;
- Hold a Quarry Manager Practising Certificate or the appropriate qualifications to apply for it.
- Proven experience in a similar Managers role.
- Experience working with a variety of equipment, including but not limited to; loaders, screens, air separator, weighbridges, dump trucks and excavators.
- Good customer and employee relations skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Continually striving to identify opportunities to improve efficiency of the extraction, screening and rehabilitation operations.
- Leading, developing and motivating the operational team in a safe culture and environment.
- Demonstrate aptitude for details and accuracy and have a strong commitment to managing health, safety and environmental compliance.
