About Us

Newcastle Sand Pty Ltd is the operator of the recently approved greenfield quarry being established at Cabbage Tree Rd Williamtown, NSW. The quarry has approvals to extract 3.25Mt of high-grade silica sand over a 8 – 15 year project life (subject to demand) with the sand suitable for concrete, glass making, asphalt and building/manufacturing uses.

Newcastle Sand is seeking application from suitably qualified and motivated applicants to be part of this start up private company where your performance and aptitude will be acknowledged and rewarded. The two Plant Operator positions will commence from August 2019.

About the Role

We are seeking full-time, experienced Plant Operators to operate our all new state of the art plant equipment, but not just any plant operator, we are after candidates who think ahead, those who can identify opportunities to improve processes or performance, identify hazards to mitigate risk and find solutions to problems.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Quarry Manager, with the responsibilities including;

• Being part of the team responsible for setting up the quarry from day one;
• Day to day operation of the quarry including maintenance, reconfiguration of processing plant, work place health and safety and environmental monitoring;
• Load truck & dogs with machine scales;
• Production monitoring of sand quality and stockpile volumes.

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must have experience or be competent in;

• Working with a variety of equipment, including but not limited to; loaders; screens, air separator, weighbridges, dump trucks, water carts and excavators;
• Be a team player with sound communication and interpersonal skills;
• Commitment to managing Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
